Trump promises great Detroit ‘comeback’ at Michigan rally

    During a Friday night Michigan rally plagued by microphone difficulties and full of reflections on his relationship with tech titan Elon Musk, Trump reiterated his promise to restore Detroit to its glory days if he wins a second term.

    “Standing before you tonight, I am proclaiming to the people of this state that by the end of my term, the entire world will be talking about the Michigan miracle and the stunning rebirth of Detroit,” Trump promised after he accused the Biden administration of selling out American jobs for cheap labor in Mexico and China.

    Renewing his promise to put “massive terrors, very big tariffs on anybody in Mexico that are selling cars that are going to hurt our business here,” Trump told Michigan supporters: “We want people to build plants in the United States, employ our people.”
