Is another candidate about to jump into the Virginia GOP primary for U.S. Senate in 2012?
Timothy Donner, founder and executive director of Horizons Television Inc. in Great Falls, is reportedly weighing a bid to take on former Sen. George Allen, Tea Party leader Jamie Radtke, and Hampton Roads attorney David McCormick in the Virginia. Senate race, according to Politico.
The field could grow even further by next year. Del. Bob Marshall, R-Prince William, and Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart have also been mentioned as possible candidates.
Meanwhile, former Gov. Tim Kaine, who every Democrat and their mother is pushing to get into the race, appears oh-so-close to jumping in on the Democratic side. But U.S. Rep. Bobby Scott isn’t ruling out a bid, according to the Washington Post — though a spokesman said that Scott is sufficiently occupied with his current job and isn’t ready to make a decision yet.
