Poll has Gingrich with slight edge in Michigan

Newt Gingrich holds a narrow lead over Mitt Romney in the state where Romney’s father once served as governor, according to a new poll of likely Republican primary voters in Michigan. A chief reason is that most of Herman Cain’s support has gone Newt’s way.

The poll was conducted by Strategic National, a Michigan firm run by John Yob, who consulted for Cain before he dropped out and for John McCain in 2008. Gingrich received 31 percent support and Romney placed second with 29 percent.
