President-elect Donald Trump chose Joseph Nocella to be the United States attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
Nocella, a Columbia Law School graduate, was appointed Nassau County District Court judge in 2022. He was the assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York from 1991 to 1995.
