News for Ed Schultz: Obama is a ‘Warmonger’

Classless Ed Schultz spells out on CNN why he calls John McCain a warmonger. He mentions McCain’s tough stands towards Russia and Iran, and then the kicker:

“… and yesterday on your network he said he wants to increase the military. Now I ask Americans this morning, what kind of message does it send to the rest of the world when we’re occupying Iraq and we’ve got a candidate who’s calling for more of a military buildup? This is outrageous. The man is a warmonger.”

Perhaps Schultz ought to explain then, why he’s backing a candidate who wants to expand the army by 65,000 and the marines by 27,000, while also significantly increasing spending on the National Guard and Reserve (funding readiness efforts likely to cost tens of billions annually). Further, as Goldfarb pointed out last week, Obama also seems to be considering the maintenance of 60,000-80,000 troops in Iraq for the indefinite future. By that standard, doesn’t Obama meet Schultz’s definition of a warmonger?
