House lawmakers on Wednesday voted to end an Environmental Protection Agency rule that imposes and collects an annual methane emission fee on oil and natural gas facilities.

The House voted 220-206 to pass a resolution offered by Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX) to slash the EPA’s “Waste Emissions Charge for Petroleum and Natural Gas Systems” rule that imposes a fee on methane emissions from oil and natural gas facilities that emit methane exceeding a certain threshold.
