One of the first things Donald Trump may see his at his golf course in Scotland this weekend is a Mexican flag flying on its border.
Residents on the Menie Estate, which is north of the Aberdeen golf course, told BuzzFeed that a farmer named Michael Forbes raised the flag a two days ago. The flag now sits near a bunker on the course, which is on the land owned by Forbes and 100 others.

“The point of the flag is to show solidarity with the Mexicans and every other group that Trump has decried, derided, insulted and tried to marginalize,” David Milne said.
In June 2015, Trump called Mexicans “rapists” and said Mexico sends drugs and crime to the United States. He has also stated that he intends to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border should he win the White House.
The residents on the Menie Estate have been campaigning against the Trump International Golf Links course ever since the presumed Republican presidential nominee opened it in 2012. They have even created the “Tripping Up Trump,” campaign which has successfully resisted compulsory purchase order by Trump’s organization to acquire their land near the golf course.
Trump is set to travel to Scotland Friday to officially open the recently redone Turnberry course in Ayrshire, which he also owns. He is also expected to visit the course in Aberdeen.
Milne said there won’t be a protest during Trump’s visit, however — just the flag, which is visible from the course’s clubhouse.
