Schumer calls for Social Security chief to resign as Democrats attack DOGE cuts: 'Hatchet man'

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) called on acting Social Security Administration Commissioner Leland Dudek to resign, accusing the Trump administration of using him to “hurt seniors.”

Schumer declared a “Social Security Day of Action” during a press conference in New York, and former President Joe Biden planned a speech on the federal retirement program later Tuesday. President Donald Trump moved to sign a memorandum aimed at cracking down on Social Security fraud the same day.
