New Bush video: ‘Why I’m running’

Former Florida Gov. Jeb released a new video, titled “Why I’m running,” nearly four months after formally launching his presidential campaign on June 15.

The video will run before his speech in Iowa on Tuesday evening, where Bush will detail his plans for reform and ideas about how to achieve four percent economic growth.

“What we have to do is stop saying how angry we are about it and win the election so we can fix it,” Bush can be heard saying in the ad. “The point is that leadership means you gotta be all in. It’s not about yapping, it’s not about talking. It’s about doing, it’s about creating strategies. It’s about rolling your sleeves up and working with people to improve the chance for people to rise up.”

Bush has suffered from worsening poll results in recent weeks, including a Pew Research Center survey that showed him with the support of just 4 percent of Republican voters nationwide. Bush, who ranks sixth in the Washington Examiner‘s most recent GOP presidential power rankings, returns for his longest trip to Iowa with the endorsements from public officials who previously supported ex-presidential candidates Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

As governors fade in the 2016 election cycle, Bush appears aimed at portraying himself as a governor with staying power.

“The overspending, the overreaching and incompetence has been accepted for too long,” said Bush spokeswoman Allie Brandenburger, in a statement. “Jeb has the strongest record of taking on and beating entrenched interests, he’s done it in Tallahassee and he’ll do it in Washington, D.C.”
