“We are now in the researching process, we are making step by step to the International market and first we selected Dubai city because Dubai is the most innovative city in the world and this is our first public flight globally and this our first step to the international,” said Minguan Qiu, general manager of Xpeng Aeroht.

Monday’s test flight in Dubai was unmanned but was described by Xpeng as an “important base for the next generation of flying cars.”

Executive Director of International Offices at Dubai’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Omar Abdulaziz Khan said Xpeng has been collaborating with the city on the flight project for eight months.

“We are now setting up a framework with the private sector in Dubai, not only for this vehicle but for this first phenomenon of its kind in the world,” Khan said.
