Robert Mueller wants documents from Justice Department about James Comey firing, Jeff Sessions recusal

Special Counsel Robert Mueller is now requesting documents from the Justice Department as he probes if President Trump obstructed a Justice Department investigation into Russian connections between Trump’s campaign and the Russian government.

ABC News reported Sunday night that Mueller is investigating if Trump tried to block a federal look into possible connections between Trump’s campaign and the Kremlin.

According to the report, Mueller is trying to get emails about the firing of former FBI Director James Comey and the decision from Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.

It’s the first time Mueller is requesting documents from the agency overseeing his investigation.

According to the report, Mueller wants any communications between the White House and the Department of Justice regarding Sessions’ recusal and Comey’s dismissal.
