Larry Kudlow will remain in hospital after ‘very mild heart attack’

Larry Kudlow, the White House’s chief economic adviser, will remain in the hospital for an unspecified amount of time after suffering a “very mild heart attack” Monday, the White House announced.

President Trump announced on Twitter from Singapore that Kudlow had been admitted to the hospital after having a heart attack. Kudlow is being treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he is expected to remain “as a standard precaution,” the White House said in a statement Tuesday.

Kudlow’s doctors expect him to make a “full and speedy recovery.”

“We look forward to seeing him back at work soon,” the White House said. “Larry and his wife Judy wanted to express heartfelt appreciation for all of the thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes.”

Trump tapped Kudlow to serve as the director of the National Economic Council following Gary Cohn’s resignation in March.

Kudlow served in the Reagan administration as an economist and worked as a contributor to CNBC.

News of his heart attack prompted a flood of well wishes from Republicans and Democrats.
