Ivanka Trump encourages support for groups that ‘uplift’ Baltimore

Ivanka Trump highlighted her work in Baltimore on Tuesday and encouraged people to support groups that “uplift the great people” of the city.

Trump visited the Center for Entrepreneurship at the Greater Baltimore Urban League in 2017, donating the proceeds of her book, Women Who Work, to help women grow their businesses.

“I encourage everyone to advance smart policy and/or support organizations that uplift the great people of ‘Charm City,’” she tweeted Tuesday.

Trump’s tweets come as her father, President Trump, has spent days criticizing Baltimore as a dirty, rat-infested, crime-ridden city, and the leadership of Rep. Elijah Cummings, whose Maryland district includes Baltimore.

“The fact is, Baltimore can be brought back, maybe even to new heights of success and glory, but not with King Elijah and that crew. When the leaders of Baltimore want to see the City rise again, I am in a very beautiful oval shaped office waiting for your call!” the president tweeted Monday.
