Wishing a political opponent’s children to “die in their arms” is sickening and should be an immediate disqualification for any political office. For months, the Democratic Party’s candidate for Virginia attorney general, Jay Jones, has stood on podiums speaking about justice and leadership. His own private messages, however, reveal a far different man, one who casually fantasizes about violence against an opponent and their family.
In Virginia, Jones and his allies have tried to excuse the inexcusable. They’re counting on voters to shrug off his words, treating them like just another political headline. But this isn’t politics as usual. These weren’t jokes or careless remarks; they were deliberate, hateful messages that reveal who Jones really is when no one’s watching.
Ask yourself this: If this is how Jones behaves in the dark, what will he do in office? These weren’t heated campaign soundbites; they were private text messages that expose a settled moral judgment about the kind of person Jones would be in a position of public trust.
Virginia deserves better.
Law and order isn’t a slogan; it’s a promise. The attorney general’s duty is to uphold the law, protect victims, and defend fairness in our courts. How can Virginians trust Jones to keep them safe when he has wished harm on another man’s family?
This moment in Virginia isn’t isolated; it’s part of a broader fight unfolding across America. In both Virginia and New Jersey, Democrats are pouring in outside money and securing big-name endorsements to tighten their political grip. These aren’t just state races; they’re value tests. They’ll decide whether voters reward integrity and accountability or excuse outrage and extremism.
Elections are the heartbeat of our democracy. They decide whether our communities will be led by people who respect human dignity or by those who weaponize violent rhetoric and intimidation. They decide whether our children will grow up in a nation that rewards integrity or one that rewards outrage.
TRUMP URGES GOP SENATORS TO USE ‘NUCLEAR OPTION’ ON FILIBUSTER TO END GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN
If you want leaders who build safer neighborhoods, stronger families, and a more resilient economy, you must use your ballot. Elections matter. Your vote matters.
So to every Virginian and New Jerseyan reading this: Show up. Stand for decency. Stand for the rule of law. On Tuesday, use your vote to draw the line Jones never would. Our country depends on it.
