The Great 2014 Cashout: Mark Pryor used to be against the revolving door

Here’s an oldie from October 2005:

“Senator Mark Pryor, along with Senator Byron Dorgan, will lead the Senate Democrats’ ‘Responsible Governance’ effort, which will close the revolving door that puts special interests before the people’s interests.”

Compare to this announcement today from K Street firm Venable:

“Venable LLP announced today that former U.S. Senator Mark L. Pryor (D-AR) joined the firm’s Washington, DC office. Senator Pryor will join the Government Affairs Practice at the firm and will counsel clients on issues at the intersection of law, policy and business.”

Venable’s clients include American Airlines, Altria, Chrysler and many more.

And in case you were wondering, Dorgan, Pryor’s partner in the Democrats’ “Responsible Governance” initiative, passed through the revolving door long ago. Dorgan is now a registered lobbyist for the National Biodiesel Board and TiVo.
