Former Major League Baseball player Alex Rodriguez is joining ABC News, according to a report Saturday.
Already a full-time MLB analyst for Fox Sports, Rodriguez now seems to be lined up to report on a more broad pallet of news, including possible appearances on “Good Morning America,” “World News Tonight” and “Nightline,” according to a report from Page Six.
One source told Page Six that Rodriguez “is interested in doing lifestyle, family-oriented programming, such as a piece on how much your kids should be working out, or business and personal-finance reports, like how to overhaul your bills.”
Representatives for ABC and A-Rod declined to comment, according to Page Six.
Rodriguez announced his retirement as a player last year, but was said to stay on with the New York Yankees as an adviser. The image of his 22-year career was marred towards the end due to a performance-enhancing drug scandal.
