Megaupload founder Kim Dotcom may never face trial or extradition to the United States because the company has never been served with U.S. “criminal papers,” due to a jurisdictional dispute.
“I frankly don’t know that we are ever going to have a trial in this matter,” United States District Judge Liam O’Grady told the FBI during a hearing on whether federal officials have the authority to erase the databases of the file-sharing website, per the New Zealand Herald.
