The White House on Thursday released a video of President Obama‘s unexpected Wednesday sidewalk stroll to the Interior Department during which one tourist asked, “Are you real?”
Obama, in shirtsleeves and carrying his jacket, responded, “Yes I am. I’m not wax.”
The video showed Obama bringing cheers and smiles to most he met. He even handed out boxes of White House M&Ms to children.
It wasn’t all fun and games, though. In one of the first scenes, Obama is shown talking to a family presumably planning to visit Arlington National Cemetery for a burial. The president recalled that as a child he saw his grandfather buried in a national cemetery, the playing of Taps included. “Still chokes me up,” he said.
