Trump: ‘I’m never getting out’

Donald Trump has walked back previous remarks about the possibility of him leaving the Republican presidential field, saying Friday he has no intention of exiting the 2016 race. Ever.

“We are fascinated around the table all the time when we have people coming on and saying you’re about to lose or you’re about to drop out of the race,” MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough told the billionaire Friday.

“Or I’ve hit my plateau … You know, they’ve said that every single time I went up, Joe,” Trump responded.

“When are you going to quit, Donald?” the “Morning Joe” host asked the GOP front-runner.

Trump cited an answer he gave during a recent appearance on MSNBC’s “Meet the Press.” Last Sunday, the real estate mogul told host Chuck Todd that he would consider ending his White House bid if his poll numbers suddenly plummeted and he didn’t anticipate a comeback.

“The next day’s headlines: ‘Trump considering getting out of the [race].’ It was so ridiculous,” he said Friday.

“So you know what I say now? I give more of a political answer: I’m never getting out,” Trump said, affirmatively.

The New York businessman, who leads the Washington Examiner’s presidential power rankings, has seen tremendous success in early primary state polls. On Thursday, a new poll of California voters showed Trump leading his GOP rivals with 17 percent support among registered Republicans in the state.
