Before the 2008 election kicks into overdrive and everyone heads to the snowy plains of Iowa, some power D’s decided to head to Puerto Rico for some vitamin D.

It was the annual retreat for the Democratic powerhouse shop The Glover Park Group, which decided to skip Washington’s snow and cold this weekend for warmer pastures.
Top dogs Carter Eskew, Mike Feldman and Chip Smith were among those savoring the sun, but there was plenty of work to do, too: strategizing, meetings and all things political during several work sessions that may or may not have happened over a margarita or two. And those who had some luck at the casinos during the evenings are perhaps now hoping that their winning steaks will continue in the world of American politics.
Fortunately for these Dems, there were no major fires to put out over the weekend but, still, they made sure to find a BlackBerry-friendly spot with a strong wireless Internet connection. (We suspect that was especially key for Drudge Girl Tracy Sefl).
Glover Park’s Joe Lockhart and Joel Johnson were unable to make it, much to the chagrin of everyone else who was eager to see Lockhart in a Speedo … and also for those Republicans eager to snap a few pictures for some down-and-dirty oppo-research.
