Netroots: We love Stewart, Colbert. Oh yeah, Obama too.

Earlier, I wrote about the declining interest in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan among the formerly-passionate antiwar activists attending the Netroots Nation convention.  Here’s one more bit from the Stanley Greenberg straw poll that was the basis for my earlier post.

Greenberg tried to assess the attendees’ feelings toward several people in the news.  In the poll, he asked, “Please indicate your feelings toward some people using a scale from 0 to 100, with one hundred meaning a very warm, favorable feeling; zero meaning a very cold, unfavorable feeling; and fifty meaning not particularly warm or cold…The higher the number, the more favorable your feelings are toward that person or organization.”

And the winner among the Netroots Nation is…Jon Stewart.  The “Daily Show” host edged out the number two finisher, Barack Obama, who himself barely edged out “Colbert Report” personality Stephen Colbert.

Greenberg also included Pennsylvania Democratic Senate candidates Sen. Arlen Specter and Rep. Joe Sestak.  Sestak cleaned Specter’s clock.  And then Greenberg included the names of Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin, just for the heck of it.  The news there?  The netroots types dislike Limbaugh even more than Palin.

Here are the full results, with the name and the average score:

Jon Stewart             88.4

Barack Obama        85.3

Stephen Colbert      84.3

Joe Sestak              64.1

Arlen Specter          42.7

Sarah Palin               3.8

Rush Limbaugh        1.6
