Bag, borrow or steal A failed purse snatcher was arrested after his victim spotted him hours later in a hospital emergency room.
Police in Tennessee say 27-year-old Coyama Locklear, 27, attacked Amanda Pyle from behind and tried to yank away her purse. But Pyle held on, the purse did not break, and Locklear fled. Pyle is 5-feet-6, Locklear is 6-feet-1, 200 pounds.
Pyle later went to a hospital to have a sore knee checked out. In the emergency room, she saw Locklear walking out with his arm in a sling and a dislocated shoulder.
Pyle wrote down the license plate number to Locklear’s gold Lexus and police made an arrest. Locklear had previous arrests for burglaries, including one in which an unsuspecting victim found him hiding in a closet.
Said Pyle, displaying the strength of her purse for Newschannel5 in Nashville, “I’d recommend this purse to anyone.”
Home alone
Police in Delaware say a man who broke into a house got so drunk that he couldn’t make his way back outside — so he called 911 for a helping hand.
Police say John Finch, 44, was trapped in the home in part because he’d broken into it before. The homeowner then changed the locks so that a key was required — even inside.
Finch was locked in so he drank three bottles of gin and two bottles of whiskey over three days. When he tried to leave, he drunkenly climbed back out of the window and got stuck. So he called 911.
Just another use for duct tape
Police arrested a Connecticut registered sex offender after he was found with a zucchini wrapped in duct tape.
Police were called by people at a store who said the man was exposing himself, and caught him as he tried to drive away. In his vehicle was a rubber sex toy that resembled male genitalia, an athletic supporter and the zucchini wrapped in duct tape.
Authorities said a store video showed Gary Germaine, 54, stuffing the vegetable under his sweat pants and confronting people.
