Luxury on the Bay

Julie Reisinger calls the Annapolis home her husband Michael designed and constructed “a naturalist’s haven.”

Others might well call it heaven.

“Builder Michael Reisinger spared no expense,” said listing agent Kelly Joyce, Annapolis Realty, of the home, which lists for $2.6 million. “It is a beautiful property that really needs no [exterior] maintenance.”

That’s because the home’s exterior materials — including plank wood composite and Azak trim — are built to maintain their beauty without the upkeep needed for wood and other materials. The Anderson Windows also need no maintenance.

But this home is much more than a pretty face.

The inside is designed for entertaining, as evidenced by the open interior design. One notable feature is the floor space that goes from the Great Room, which boasts a fireplace and hardwood floors, into the chef’s kitchen. Traffic can move freely without crowding the chef.

“It’s a very open, very casual space,” Joyce said.

But the extras define elegance. Consider the kitchen’s granite countertops, wine cooler, dry bar next to the refrigerator, high-end appliances and custom solid wood dovetailed cabinets by Signature.

Although the home’s bedrooms are all large and well appointed, the master suite is designed for relaxation.

The luxury bathroom includes marble floors, a large marble soaking tub and a light-toned double sink/vanity with high-end cabinets and mirrors.

“The bedroom has a huge, huge walk-in closet with French doors so you can design your own custom closet,” said Joyce, who noted the closet’s size is that of many other homes’ bedrooms. The remaining bedrooms are also sizable, with plentiful closet space and other special features including one with a fireplace (one of three in the home).

A large laundry room with generous built-in cabinets and plenty of storage space — plus two windows with water views — a central vac, an oversized two-car garage, and a lot primed for a swimming pool, are just some of the extras.

Yet, Reisinger said those aren’t even the top selling points of this house.

“What really [sells] this house is the view,” said Julie Reisinger. “You can see freighters and sailboats going back and forth and Blue Angel demonstrations from the U.S. Naval Academy.”

Plentiful windows ensure that views — and sunshine — are available from almost any room in the three-story home.

There’s also a large, unfinished walk-out lower level that can be finished to the new owner’s specifications.

“The builder is willing to work with the new owner,” Joyce said. “It’s truly a special property.”
