Hillary Clinton is taking on Donald Trump in her latest fundraising pitch. But she’s asking supporters for a dollar to help her wage the war.
“[A]s Donald Trump continues his march toward the Republican nomination, the stakes in this election keep getting higher,” Clinton’s email this morning to supporters reads.
“Donald Trump is running a cynical campaign of hate and fear for one reason: to get votes.
“He’s encouraging violence and chaos — he’s pitting Americans against each other.
“At our best, Americans have always rejected demagogues and fearmongers. Donald Trump is not who we are, and he cannot become our president.
“Trump says he wants to round up millions of Latino immigrants and kick them out of the United States — a nation built by immigrants. America was founded on religious freedom, yet Donald Trump wants to bar Muslims from entering our country. And he advocated killing the wives and children of our enemies — until he was informed that would be a war crime in violation of our most deeply held principles and our Constitution.
“As we face the prospect of a Trump nomination, we can’t be complacent — not even for a moment. We have to make our team big enough and strong enough to win this November. Our nation can’t afford the alternative.
