Survey: CNN No. 1 news site, Drudge tops AP, LAT, Trib

CNN is the nation’s No. 1 news website, picked by Democrats more than any other, according to a new media consumption survey.

One of the country’s top news aggregators, The Drudge Report, ranked higher in usage than the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune.

Fox News is the top source for Republicans, according to Spot.IM’s Media Consumption Survey.

The survey also found that most Republicans believe Donald Trump is the victim of negative news coverage. “Some 85 percent of Republicans say Trump gets too much negative press coverage vs. just 9 percent of Democrats,” said the survey provided to Secrets.

And while news consumers prefer CNN’s website, it’s NBC that is tops on TV.

From the survey:

47% of Americans prefer NBC TV news coverage, more than CNN (42%) ABC (40%) and CBS (40%). When broken down by respondents designating political affiliation (520), more Republicans watch Fox News than any other network for news programming. Among Democrats, Libertarians and respondents identifying as non-affiliated, NBC was most popular while Greens preferred PBS and respondents identifying as Independents chose CNN most.
