WHAT: President Obama’s stimulus plan includes a tax credit up to $5,500 for the purchase of an electric vehicle.
WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: Combined with similar state rebate plans, taxpayers are now footing the bill for $10,000 golf carts, thanks to an IRS ruling that golf carts considered “road worthy” qualify for the electric car credit. There’s also no limit on how many golf cart tax credits an individual can claim.
