Trump says he won’t take vacations if elected president

Donald Trump may be a globe-trotting entrepreneur and reality star, but if elected to the White House, he plans on staying put.

“I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done. I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off,” Trump told The Hill. “You don’t have time to take time off.”

Trump’s assertion was likely a dig at President Obama, who is often criticized for his many lavish vacations and time spent on the golf course.

Trump took a break from campaigning Tuesday, to celebrate the opening of a new golf course at his Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va.

At the event he was asked by The Hill if he plans on living in the White House or one of his many properties. Trump said he would take up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

“Yes, I would live in the White House because it’s the appropriate thing to do. I would work. And I would make the country great again. That’s what you have to do,” Trump said.
