Biden gives speech at Keene State, recycles Bain Capital smears

Joe Biden openly mocked Romney’s experience at Bain Capital, during Tuesday’s speech at Keene State College in N.H, by saying that private equity, “no more qualifies you to being a president than being a plumber.”

Unfortunately for Biden, once again he did not think before he spoke, and thoroughly insulted many of the same middle-class people whose votes he is vying for.

After scattered bits of applause, the Vice President hastily added, “And, by the way, there are a lot of awful smart plumbers.”

The rest of the speech mostly focused on the economy, with Biden emphasizing that he and Obama,“intend to build a middle class. We mean it.”

Remarkably the Vice President chose to ignore the issue that has become a stark reality for most college graduates: the severe unemployment crisis, especially for young people.

In 2011, an astounding 1.5 million, or 53.6 percent of persons under the age of 25 who held a bachelors degree were jobless.

Earlier Tuesday, the RNC capitalized on this fact by releasing a video called “Empty Promises: College Costs Still Rising” stating the Vice President will be visiting a state with the, “highest student loan debt in the nation, where the average undergraduate owes $31,048. Despite talking about rising college costs for four years, students have seen their tuition bills rise every year President Obama has been in office.”

Instead of addressing this problem, Biden chose to continue the Obama campaigns’ smear attacks on Republicans, lamenting the 2010 elections by saying, “Imagine where we would be if the Tea Party hadn’t taken charge of the House of Representatives.”

The entire speech was an attempt to paint the Obama campaign as a true crusader for the middle class, even though Biden admitted that he has become wealthy due to the large salary that he receives, courtesy of the taxpayers.

The New Hampshire speech was Biden’s fourth visit to the state since this year began, maybe next time he will read his speech beforehand and avoid some of those careless quips that he has become so famous for.
