WASHINGTON — Red Alert Politics (RAP) held its annual 30 Under 30 Awards celebration last night at the National Union Building, celebrating young conservative leaders from across the country.

During the event, Red Alert Politics also announced it has become a vertical within the Washington Examiner website, with a sharper focus on campus politics.

Lauren Cooley, who oversees RAP’s campus contributors program, will run the vertical as section editor.

“We’re excited to bring our coverage of millennial trends, higher education, and campus news to the Washington Examiner‘s 8 million unique readers each month,” said Cooley.

More of RAP’s content will now come from writers at campuses around the country, although there will still be a number of stories written by Washington Examiner staff.

“We expect that Red Alert Politics content will draw more younger readers to the Washington Examiner,” said Hugo Gurdon, editorial director of the Washington Examiner, “and campus politics, particularly the Left’s onslaught against the nation’s founding principle of free speech, is an increasingly important story. It goes to the heart of who we are as a nation, and the merger of Red Alert Politics into Washington Examiner, will allow us to cover it better.”

MediaDC is the publisher of The Weekly Standard and Washington Examiner. We’ve assembled teams of world-class journalists in the nation’s capital to inform and enlighten readers and the people who make policy and practice politics at the state and national levels.
