A huge line of people formed Friday morning just a few blocks north of the White House, where a group was offering free marijuana.
The group DCMJ was set to hand out thousands of free joints Friday morning in a bid to promote the idea of legalized pot in the District of Columbia.
“There’s hundreds of thousands of tourists coming to town, and they think D.C. is fully legal,” said Nikolas Schiller, a co-founder of the group, told WTOP this week.
People were eager to take advantage of the giveaway. One tweet showed hundreds of people lining up in Dupont Circle to get their free joint.
One D.C. reporter said he took a train into town that was filled with protesters who planned on smoking marijuana outside the White House to protest President-elect Trump.
