Police pulled over a Virginia delegate up for reelection after receiving a call about meddling with campaign signs.
Del. Chris Hurst, a Democrat, was stopped Monday night after the Radford Police Department got a call about a woman mucking with campaign signs, purportedly from Hurst’s car, at the town’s recreational center the same evening.
When police pulled over the mentioned vehicle, it was Hurst who was driving, said Sheriff Mark Armentrout.
TWO JOURNALISTS SHOT DEAD DURING LIVE TV REPORT
Hurst was given a notification for driving under a suspended license, Armentrout said, according to WFXR.
It is against the commonwealth’s law to vandalize or move campaign signs in the lead-up to the vote, but it is not clear if charges will be brought against either party.
