Attorney General Loretta Lynch will testify next Tuesday before a House Judiciary Committee oversight hearing of the Department of Justice, on issues ranging from the Orlando terror attack to what the committee chairman calls the “disturbing politicization of the Justice Department under the Obama administration.”
That includes this week’s recommendation from FBI Director James Comey not to bring criminal charges against Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state, and Lynch’s meeting just days earlier with former President Bill Clinton.
“[H]er mishandling of classified information raises serious concerns,” Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., said in a statement Wednesday about Hillary Clinton. “It is uniquely troubling in light of Attorney General Lynch’s secret meeting with former President Bill Clinton. No one is above the law and the American people need to know that federal law enforcement is taking this misconduct seriously.”
This will be her second appearance before the House Judiciary Committee as attorney general. The hearing taxes place at Tuesday, July 12, at 10 a.m.
