Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha criticized Joy Reid’s comments on the controversy involving the New York Giants’ quarterback Jaxson Dart and his introduction of President Donald Trump at an event.

Concha said, “she sees everything not only through a political prism, but through a racial prism as well,” on Fox News’s Fox & Friends First Tuesday.

Concha criticized Reid’s framing of Dart’s introduction of Trump at the “Fighting for American workers” event, questioning her perspective on both sports fandom and political interpretation.

“You cannot find one photo of Joy Reid at any Giants game, in any Giants gear, a cap, something, and I’m willing to bet that she couldn’t pick Phil Simms, Lawrence Taylor, Tiki Barber, Eli Manning, even Jaxson Dart, out of a photo lineup right now, if given the opportunity,” Concha said.

Reid criticized Dart’s language during an On Sunday segment with Jack Cocchiarella on Sunday, saying, “He said he was ‘pleasured’ to meet the president, what does that even mean? First of all, he’s an idiot, what do you mean you’re ‘pleasured’ to meet the president, is English your first language?”

She escalated her criticism of Dart’s reaction to Trump, saying, “Donald Trump is not an American President. Donald Trump is a wannabe king.”

Concha emphasized that her reaction to Dart’s comments would likely differ from that of a Democratic lawmaker.

“If he’d introduced a Kamala Harris or Gavin Newsom at a rally, not one person would blink on the Left. In fact, he would probably be absolutely applauded,” Concha said.

Concha pushed back on the idea that the issue carried real weight within the Giants organization, saying, “The bottom line is that this has been resolved within the Giants’ locker room.”

He also pointed to Dart’s growing popularity with fans. “Jaxson Dart just set a modern NFL record by moving, let’s see, sold 277,000 in a single day. That beats every league-wide record all time,” he said.

“I have a feeling this is not hurting the Giant brand or Jaxson Dart’s standing within real Giant fans, that I do know,” Concha said.
