Tourists visiting the United States for the World Cup are getting a taste of American cuisine — and taking it home with them. The Transportation Security Administration is now warning travelers to leave a beloved American condiment in the checked bag.
“If you’re visiting for a very large sporting event & you happen to discover RANCH while you’re here… pls pack it in your CHECKED BAG on the way home,” TSA said on Instagram on June 16.

Ranch dressing, also used as a dip, is a creamy, herby condiment made with a buttermilk or mayonnaise base. Its cult-like following has gone international as tourists attempt to take it home.
“Who knew dip-lomacy could be achieved through addressing the obvious: ranch is the king of condiments. The world is slowly discovering ranch pairs perfectly with pizza, chicken wings, fries, onion rings, quesadillas, crackers, chips, vegetables, and the list just keeps growing,” TSA said.
TSA officers remain dedicated to their duties, making sure the sauce doesn’t make its way into carry-on bags unless it fits the size requirements for travel.
“Are you kicking around the idea of flying home with your favorite dip? If you’re traveling within the U.S., make sure to keep your carry-on sauces to 3.4oz or less and place any larger containers in your checked bags,” TSA said.
TSA also joked about travelers possibly having their ranch confiscated, saying, “Ok, please avoid chugging your ranch outside security; the airlines will check it for you.”
Other tourists have raved about Taco Bell and Waffle House, calling it “the holy land,” but it looks like ranch takes the cake.
“One World. One Ranch,” TSA said.
