SEE IT: Tornado ravages Alabama, followed by flood

Northwestern Alabama was under a tornado warning Thursday.

The scoreboard at Northside High School in Northport, Alabama, crumpled against the wind, with the Twitter account for the school’s football team posting a photo.


Another user, in Brookwood, shared a photo of a trampoline that had blown into their bushes.

A local reporter captured footage of what the “tornadic storm” looked like from Tuscaloosa. In the video, strong winds and rain can be seen.


A local news station posted a picture of a tree uprooted by the storm. The tree appears to be over 20 feet tall.



In Boley Springs, a local reporter videoed debris scattered around a neighborhood. An entire fence appears completely demolished.


As road conditions worsened, two tractor-trailers tipped over on Interstate 22, though only one minor injury was reported by a local journalist on the scene.
