The real Iran crisis: A regime at war with its own citizens

The Iranian crisis has dominated the headlines for months. But discussion of Iran has become narrowly focused on geopolitical tensions related to oil exports, military conflict, and the persistent threat of the regime’s pursuit of nuclear weapons capability. Far less attention has been paid in the West to the plight of the Iranian people in general and that of Iran’s religious minorities in particular.

We must be reminded that behind all of this are the Iranian people — the men, women, and children who, even in the face of war, continue to stand up for freedom, dignity, justice, and the right to life.
