Actor Tim Conway, best known for his comedic work on “The Carol Burnett Show,” died Tuesday morning at the age of 85.
Conway died at 8:45 a.m. PST in Los Angeles, according to his publicist. Conway had been suffering from complications from normal pressure hydrocephalus, a condition that causes cerebrospinal fluid to build up in the brain.
Conway won a Golden Globe award in 1976 for his work on the “The Carol Burnett Show” where he played characters like the Oldest Man and Mr. Tudball. Conway also won Emmy awards in 1973, 1977, and 1978 for his performance on the show.
He also starred in the 1960s show “McHale’s Navy” and hosted his own variety show, “The Tim Conway Show” for about a year.
In more recent years, Conway received an Emmy for a special appearance on “30 Rock,” voiced the character of Barnacle Boy on the animated kid’s show “Spongebob Squarepants.”
