College students across the country are being radicalized to be violent, bloodthirsty leftists. That’s because their professors are violent, bloodthirsty leftists. Case in point: Robert Saleem Holbrook teaches at the University of Pennsylvania.
Holbrook was convicted of first-degree murder in 1991 and released from prison in 2018. While in prison, he joined the Nation of Islam — a black nationalist, anti-white, anti-Jew organization formerly led by Louis Farrakhan. Holbrook was part of its paramilitary wing, the Fruit of Islam. Less than a week after Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, massacre in which Islamic terrorists killed, tortured, raped, and kidnapped over 1,000 innocent Jews, Holbrook defended the organization along with Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah as “the most rational actors in the Middle East.” Holbrook further justified the terrorist attack, saying, “you can’t imprison an entire nation & expect no consequences.” Just last year, he praised convicted cop killer Assata Shakur in the wake of her death.

He currently serves as the executive director of the Abolitionist Law Center — a far-left organization that advocates abolishing the prison system, defunding the police, and allowing criminals to vote. Holbrook’s entire life purpose is to paint violent criminals as the victims and paint the justice system as the criminals.
Why would Penn hire a convicted murderer who praises terrorists and cop killers? This is a lot less surprising when you consider that former Penn President Liz Magill referred to calls for genocide against Jewish people as a matter of “context,” while the university’s own professors facilitated the illegal anti-Israel encampments of 2024. The school is a hotbed for violent, far-left extremism — and its rot extends from top to bottom.
This problem isn’t isolated to Penn, or even the Ivy League. I previously covered a 2022 SUNY Brockport event where the school hosted cop-killer Jalil Muntaqim. The event described him as a “political prisoner.” Muntaqim made a fake 911 call to lure in the police, then shot the responding officers to death. He killed one cop in one shot, but shot the other 22 times as he begged for his life, pleading that he had a wife and children — shooting him in the head and down his spine. When asked why he killed a black cop, Muntaqim’s response was “a pig is a pig.”
Muntaqim, like Holbrook, was seen by radical campus activists as the victim. This mindset has been ingrained in students’ minds at the university level for decades now — and it’s made its way into K-12 as well. Fast forward to present day, and we are experiencing a wave of young leftists committing acts of political violence. Charlie Kirk was assassinated by a 22-year-old. UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was killed by a 26-year-old. President Donald Trump was shot by a 20-year-old.
When you idolize monsters, making them out to be the victims in a society that glorifies victimhood, you create more monsters. Think “idolize” is a stretch? Holbrook won a “Citizen of the Year” award in 2024 — just months after he praised Hamas and justified Oct. 7 — for being a “social justice champion.”

People like Holbrook and Muntaqim shouldn’t be allowed to see the light of day, let alone be near kids. To partially quote the former, you can’t allow violent radicals to indoctrinate students and expect no consequences. The consequences, in this case, are the promotion of anti-white and antisemitic bigotry, the blind acceptance of false narratives to justify violence, and the rise of young wannabe revolutionaries who terrorize communities to further their professors’ political agenda.
President Donald Trump made a campaign promise to pull funding from schools fostering antisemitism. That should apply to all forms of violent extremism. No school employing someone who praises groups that slaughter Americans should receive a dime from the American taxpayers.
