Secret $500,000 settlement between Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew accuser unsealed

A previously secret $500,000 settlement deal between Jeffrey Epstein and Prince Andrew’s accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, was unsealed by a New York judge on Monday.

Prince Andrew will reportedly attempt to use the deal as a means to have his sexual abuse case dismissed, according to a report.

The 2009 settlement reveals that Giuffre was given $500,00 to settle all her claims, and the accompanying documents make no named mention of Prince Andrew, the report said.

The agreement delivered a release for “any other person or entity who could have been included as a potential defendant” in Giuffre’s allegations.

She was forced to engage in sexual acts with Prince Andrew when she was 17-years-old at two of Epstein’s London properties, Giuffre alleges.

The 61-year-old prince has categorically denied the accusations, and a hearing on the motion to dismiss the case is set for Tuesday.

However, should the case move forward, Prince Andrew could be required to hand over personal communications spanning decades during discovery and submit to being deposed, according to the report.

A trial could occur as soon as this year if no settlement is reached, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan said.
