President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he is thinking about changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America as trade tensions between the United States and Canada escalate.
“The United States is giving serious consideration to changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America in that we don’t expect to doing much business with Ontario any longer,” he posted on Truth Social. He previously signed an executive order that mandated federal agencies change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.
