For Ted Cruz, 2028 is about the future and what might have been

If Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) seeks the 2028 Republican presidential nomination, it will be a chance at a do-over.

In 2016, Cruz had the best chance of winning the GOP nod of any movement conservative since Ronald Reagan in 1980 and, then again as the incumbent president, in 1984.
