The United States responded to Canada’s retaliatory tariffs on Tuesday as the White House announced it was banning multiple Canadian products from being imported into the country. It marks the latest action taken in the trade war between the neighboring North American countries.

​The bans were announced by the White House in two separate proclamations from President Donald Trump on Tuesday. It includes “alcoholic beverages that are products of Canada,” certain Canadian dairy products, and some motorcycles. The restriction of the importation of Canadian alcohol products is largely similar to Canada’s restriction of alcohol products made in the U.S., which was implemented in 2025.
