Jasper Engines & Transmission plans to expand

JASPER, Ind. (AP) — Jasper Engines & Transmission says it will expand its operations in southwest Indiana, creating up to 235 new jobs by 2017.

The company announced in a news release Wednesday that it will invest $6.9 million to set up a 220,000 square-foot facility housing its transmission division near its headquarters in Jasper, about 40 miles northeast of Evansville. The new plant is expected to be operational this fall.
