Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley has made it known he’s openly exploring a potential run at the White House in 2016, however a poll released Tuesday shows Maryland residents don’t want their governor in Washington.
The poll, released by Goucher, shows that 65 percent of Maryland residents don’t support an O’Malley run in 2016 and only 19 percent are behind the governor.
O’Malley is in the final year of his final term as governor of Maryland and has said he’s exploring a run in the Democratic primary even if former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton decides to run.
