Obama’s 203rd round, 7 hours at one of the world’s most exclusive golf courses

President Obama skipped the craps tables in Las Vegas Saturday and played his 203rd round of golf at one of the top course in the world. And he stayed for seven hours, getting in extra holes after finishing the first 18.

According to the White House pool of reporters assigned to cover Obama, the president and his celebrity foursome played at Shadow Creek golf course in North Las Vegas, “one of the most exclusive golf courses in the world.”

He played with just-retired New York Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter, Obama campaign supporter Stephen Cloobeck and Brian Greenspun, owner of the Las Vegas Sun newspaper.

While on the course, he issued a statement on the Nairobi-bound bus attack that killed 28. It was not clear which hole he was on at the time since the pool was not allowed to eyeball the president or his group.

According to the pool, he arrived at 9:50 a.m. and departed at 4:47 p.m. One of multiple pool reports said, “Obama and Co. are now playing some extra holes. Not sure if they’ll get to nine before it gets dark.”

The pool did describe the setting a bit. “While pool vans sat at the side of the road just inside the entryway for the first hour, we saw a limousine or two come through — and a Rolls Royce. No sightings of POTUS (or Derek Jeter), of course.

“Pool holding in the club house, nicely appointed, understated. Grounds outside are gorgeous. We were treated to a round of refreshing Arnold Palmers.”

The course is owned by MGM Resorts International, built by casino magnate Steve Wynn.
