On Tuesday, at U.N. headquarters, President Donald Trump and the leaders of Denmark and Greenland signed a security agreement. Trump says it gives Washington “permanent control over security, and all other needs” in Greenland, and calls it an “Infinite Life” agreement. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen says the agreement recognizes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the kingdom and the Greenlandic people’s right to self-determination.

Both are describing the same document accurately. That is not a failure of reporting. That is the design.
