Thune presses Trump for more funding toward swinging battleground races red

Published Updated

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) on Monday revealed he is pressing President Donald Trump for more funding toward battleground races in the midterm elections, as Republicans fight to stave off losses in November.

Thune said that he’s been emphasizing the question of resources for candidates during conversations with Trump and the president’s advisers, in an interview with Politico.
