An anti-Donald Trump immigrant activist group quickly became the butt of the joke Saturday during an episode of NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” hosted by the Republican presidential candidate himself.
The nonprofit group Deport Racism, who claims its mission is to combat “anti-Latino and anti-immigrant racism” in the current election cycle, offered a $5,000 bounty ahead of Trump’s appearance on the late-night comedy program to any live audience member who shouted “Trump is a racist” during the show’s taping.
Sure enough, the accusation made it into Saturday night’s episode.
Long-time comedian Larry David, who delivered an uncanny impression of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during Trump’s first skit, during which he shouted “he’s a racist” from off camera in a humorous attempt to steal Trump’s spotlight.
The co-creator of “Seinfeld” also appeared during the opening skit of the program, mocking MSNBC’s recent Democratic presidential forum in South Carolina.
Deport Racism tweeted late Saturday evening that David would be compensated $5,000 despite jokingly calling the GOP candidate a racist.
