Hours after dramatically landing safely in Miami, Florida, Brazilian opposition candidate Flavio Bolsonaro is declaring himself the legitimate victor of last weekend’s election.

Bolsonaro and his family touched down on U.S. soil Wednesday morning amid international speculation about his whereabouts. He fled his home country under threat of prosecution by left-wing President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who defeated him in an unprecedented comeback that the right-wing dissident is now formally alleging was a sham election.
