Bill O’Reilly: Cruz won’t win, but adds ‘well-needed candor’ to the race

Bill O’Reilly does not foresee a long future for Ted Cruz 2016. But he did tell David Letterman that Cruz “adds some well-needed candor to the ceremonies.”

“I don’t think he’s going to win,” he clarified, “But he’s a straight-shooting guy.”

“I just like the fact that he’s in and he’s going to stir it up,” he said. “He’s going to call people pin-heads, maybe throw things at them, I like all of that.”

O’Reilly noted that “extreme” is perhaps not the best description of Cruz, an Ivy-league-educated veteran of the Bush administration, but said the GOP needs to broaden their appeal in order to win.

“Believe me, Hillary Clinton is going to be tough to beat,” he warned, “and Republicans better get on it if they want to win it.”

He predicted Scott Walker or Jeb Bush as the eventual Republican nominee.
